Request a Ribbon-Cutting
At the Eudora Chamber of Commerce, we're committed to celebrating your successes with our ribbon-cutting ceremonies. These events are exclusive benefits for Chamber Member businesses. To qualify, members must be in good standing and have a compelling reason, such as anniversaries, new locations, remodelings, grand openings, or similar milestones. New members can schedule a ribbon cutting upon committing to a membership agreement.

Choosing the Perfect Date for Your Event
Planning is key to a successful event. Setting a date for your ribbon cutting or special event requires careful consideration to ensure maximum attendance and impact. Here are some essential tips:
Avoid Holidays: Steer clear of major holidays to ensure your event isn’t lost in the festivities.
Check Community Events: Avoid conflicts with major local events or sports activities that could draw away your audience.
Consult the Chamber Calendar: Check our Events Calendar to ensure your chosen date doesn't clash with any existing Chamber events.
Consider Your Audience: Select weekdays like Tuesdays through Thursdays for non-retail businesses to maximize attendance.
Skip Weekends: Our Chamber Board members are volunteers. Therefore, we schedule business events from Monday to Thursday to respect their work-life balance.
When deciding whom to invite to your event, consider these key groups:
Potential and current customers
Suppliers and vendors
Employees and volunteers
Chamber representatives
Local media outlets
Neighboring businesses
Friends and family
Business associates

Food & Beverages:
When planning refreshments, choose options appropriate for the time of day. While food is optional for simple ribbon cuttings, more significant events with tours may benefit from offering light refreshments. Please consider coordinating with a Chamber Business for your refreshment.
Crafting a Memorable Ceremony:
At the Eudora Chamber of Commerce, we believe in adding a special touch to events like groundbreakings or ribbon cuttings with a well-planned program. This provides recognition for you and your team and gives purpose to the occasion, allowing you to showcase your business effectively. Here’s how to plan a successful program or ceremony:
Time Management: Keep your event concise and engaging, aiming for about 30 minutes. Plan the agenda to respect your guests' time.
Speaker Management: Limit the number of speakers and their speech duration to a maximum of 10 minutes. Setting time limits ensures the program runs smoothly and keeps attendees engaged.
Engagement Ideas: Consider including a door prize or drawing to enhance guest enjoyment and boost attendance. Offering a product sample or a memorable experience can create excitement and foster connections.
Enhancing Media Presence:
At the Eudora Chamber of Commerce, we understand the importance of gaining media coverage for your special events like ribbon cuttings and groundbreakings. While not all events may capture media attention, there are proactive steps you can take to increase your chances:
Email Eudora Times at eudoratimes@gmail.com at least ten days before your event. Follow up a day or two before the event, outlining all essential details, including who, what, where, when, why, and how. Ensure the event address and specific timing are clearly stated.
Have a camera and photographer available onsite. If Eudora Times cannot attend, send them a photo of the event. The Chamber can also assist by capturing and sharing pictures.
